Term 3 Week 10 - 2023
From the Principal
Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members,
As the sun sets on Term 3, today marked a special occasion for all of us, the End of Term liturgy. The day was filled with a multitude of emotions, ranging from joy and pride to moments of reflection and, of course, a touch of sadness.
During our liturgy, we took a step back and reflected on the myriad of achievements and growth our students have showcased this term. The evolution in their writing skills, bolstered by our dedicated writing project, has been truly remarkable. Our away camp not only brought adventure but also strengthened the bonds of friendship with peers beyond the boundaries of our school. We commend every student for stepping out of their comfort zone and trying new things. Witnessing the phenomenal growth of our students at St Francis is a testament to their determination and hard work, and it fills our hearts with immense pride.
However, every ending brings a new beginning, and today we bid farewell to two cherished members of our community. Miss Hansen, who has been a pillar of support since the beginning of the year, will be greatly missed. Her dedication to our students and the St Francis community has been unparalleled. We express our deepest gratitude for her service and wish her and her family the very best as they embark on their new journey to Barcaldine. Our well wishes also extend to Joshua Nunn.
On another note, this week marked the beginning of the verification process for our school. We were graced with the presence of the Blue team from the Head Office over a span of two days. Their feedback was overwhelmingly positive, speaking volumes about the spirit and essence of St Francis. They were truly impressed by our wonderful students, dedicated staff, supportive community members, and the overall atmosphere of our school.
As we approach the close of the term, please note that school will conclude at 11:30am tomorrow. I'd like to take this moment to wish each and every one of you a rejuvenating holiday. Cherish the moments, stay safe, and come back refreshed for Term 4. It promises to be an eventful and bustling term, and we can't wait to welcome you all back.
God Bless,
Scott Murray

Prep/1 Happenings
We love numeracy rotations in P/1! It’s a great way to learn multiple mathematical concepts over a short period of time. Our rotations usually go for 10 minutes at a time and involve a lot of hands-on learning.
Miss Brown,
Year 2/3/4 Happenings
Our students are now well acquainted with our writing space, a special area in the classroom where students are welcome to express their writing ideas. One aspect they love about the space is the prompts Miss Allison gives to write something different than they are used to. In these photos, students are writing awards to other class members to show their appreciation for the hard work their peers are showing in the last couple days of term.

Year 5/6 Happenings
We have been exploring erupting volcanoes in Science this week. The students used paper mache to make their own representation of a volcano which they based off the different types. We then used a mixture of bicarb soda, vinegar and dishwashing liquid to make them erupt.
