Term 3 Week 8 - 2023
From the Principal
Dear Parents, Carers, and Community Members,
As we reach the end of week 8, we are looking forward to a long weekend for our families and students.
Pupil Free Day Tomorrow
Tomorrow is a Pupil Free day. While staff will be on campus, they will be engaged in Professional Development activities. Among other topics, we will be preparing for the implementation of Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum, scheduled for next year. The office will remain open for phone calls and general administrative tasks should you require any assistance. However, the school will not be open to students.
Fathers Day Liturgy and BBQ Evening
Last night, we had the pleasure of celebrating our Fathers Day Liturgy and BBQ Evening. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended. Special mention goes to our students Bob, Maci, and Rory for leading the liturgy. Our students closed the event with a touching rendition of "Hey Dad, I Love You", a song they've been working hard on over the past weeks.
Upcoming Events: Year 5 & 6 Camp
This weekend, we welcome staff from St Patrick's Winton. They will arrive on Sunday evening before our Year 5 & 6 students, along with theirs, travel to the annual camp at Mungalli Falls. Accompanied by Miss Eriksen and Miss Margy, our students and staff will depart at 4am on Monday via coach. We eagerly await hearing about their experiences and adventures!
Safety Reminder: Helmets are a Must
A reminder that all students riding bikes or scooters to school should wear a helmet. I've recently reached out to some parents regarding wearing helmets and road safety, especially as our surrounding roads become increasingly busy in the afternoons. Please ensure your child has the appropriate safety equipment, if they are riding to and from school.
Wishing you all a great weekend, and for those travelling away for it, travel safe.
God Bless,
Scott Murray

Happy 6th Birthday Charlie Price! We hope you had a wonderful day!
Prep/1 Happenings
This week P/1 students have been using our amazing new Writing Space! This is a space in the classroom dedicated to the students' independent writing. The theme changes every 2 weeks, this week's theme is animals. The students love having this space in the classroom and we use it not only during writing time but also in the mornings.
Miss Brown,
Year 2/3/4 Happenings
2/3/4 are loving Area and Perimeter in Maths! We have been playing a cool game where students roll a dice to measure the length and width of a rectangle to put on the sheet of paper. Students then calculated the area of that shape and added it to their score. The student who had filled the page with the most area, wins!

Year 5/6 Happenings
We have had another busy week in 5/6 this week finishing all of our assessment in preparation for our camp to Mungalli Falls next week. We have been loving using our writing space to help give us a designated space to write. We have also been enjoying using our synonym flip cards to help us make sure that we are adding lots of description and detail into our writing.

Dear Parents/Carers and Friends
One of our recent Mini Vinnies activities was a cupcake fundraiser in support of Ronald McDonald House. Firstly the students had to assemble the cupcake boxes. Then it was time to have some real fun and test out their icing skills, this part was enjoyed by all. Thank You to everyone that purchased some cupcakes. Thanks to your support we raised $150. We do hope to have another cupcake drive in the future so be sure to keep an eye out.
