Term 1 Week 9: 2023
From the Principal
Good Morning Parents, Carers and Community members,
As we approach the end of a successful term, we would like to provide you with some important updates and reminders for the upcoming events and ongoing activities at our school.
End of Term Liturgy
We cordially invite you to join us for the End of Term Liturgy, which will be held at St. Thomas Anglican Church on Monday, 27th March 2023, commencing at 9:00 am. This special event marks the conclusion of the term and celebrates the achievements of our students and staff. We look forward to seeing you there!
Uniform Reminder
Although we are nearing the end of the term, we would like to remind all students and parents that it is still a school expectation and policy that the uniform policy is followed and adhered to. Proper attire reflects our school's values and fosters a sense of unity and pride within our community.
Parent-Teacher Interviews
On Monday, 20th, and Tuesday, 21st March, we held our Parent-Teacher interviews. We are delighted to report that there was a great turnout of parents and carers over these two days. Thank you for your continued support and engagement in your child's education.
Life Ed Visit
We were pleased to welcome Jordan Kite from Life Ed on Tuesday, 21st March 2023. The students thoroughly enjoyed the interactive learning experience, which focused on making healthy choices and promoting personal safety.
End of Term
A friendly reminder that next week on Friday, 31st March 2023, the school term will conclude at 11:30 am. Please make necessary arrangements to ensure your child is collected promptly at this time.
ECSI Survey Competition
Don't forget that the ECSI Survey Competition is still ongoing, and we encourage all families, community members and parish members to participate. Additionally, the Weekly Tuckshop Draw will take place again this Friday, 24th March 2023. Good luck to all participating!
We appreciate your support and involvement in our school community, and we wish you and your family a restful and enjoyable break over the Easter Season.
God Bless,
Scott Murray,
A/Principal

RE News
5ᵗʰ Sunday of Lent - Sunday, 26ᵗʰ March 2023
It is important to understand the significance of the Fifth Sunday of Lent within the Catholic faith as we continue our journey towards Easter.
Lent is a 40-day period of reflection, prayer, and fasting observed by Catholics to prepare for the celebration of Jesus' resurrection on Easter Sunday. The Fifth Sunday of Lent, also known as Passion Sunday, marks the beginning of Passiontide, a period that focuses on the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
During the Fifth Sunday of Lent, the Gospel reading typically highlights a significant event or teaching from Jesus' ministry that demonstrates His divine nature and love for humanity. This helps the faithful to deepen their understanding of Jesus' mission and sacrifice, as well as to reflect on their own spiritual growth and relationship with God.
As Passiontide begins, churches often veil their statues and religious images with purple cloth, symbolising a time of mourning and anticipation for the suffering that Jesus will endure on the cross. This practice also encourages the faithful to focus on the central message of the Gospel and the upcoming Holy Week events, which include the Last Supper, Jesus' arrest, trial, crucifixion, and resurrection.
The Fifth Sunday of Lent serves as a reminder to Catholics of the importance of their own spiritual journeys during this time. It is an opportunity to deepen their faith, engage in acts of charity, and seek forgiveness through the sacrament of Reconciliation.
As we continue our path through the Lenten season and approach the events of Holy Week, the Fifth Sunday of Lent helps to prepare our hearts and minds for the profound mystery of Jesus' passion, death, and resurrection, which lies at the core of the Christian faith.

In Religion we have been learning all about God’s creation and how to take care of it. We went on a nature walk to really look at our environment and all the natural things that God has made. We then painted a picture of ourselves being happy in God’s creation.
