Term 4 Week 7: 2022
From the Principal
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Swimming Carnival
Our Small Schools Swimming Carnival is coming up next Friday! We would like to thank the small schools for their organisation of this event this year. We do remind parents that students need a sun safe shirt whilst they aren’t in the pool, a hat and sunscreen. The Hughenden Hammerheads will be running a canteen on the day for our students and families. No lunches will be ordered or picked up so please either pack a lunch or support our small local swimming club and purchase from the canteen.
Leadership Speeches
This Friday our Year 5 students will embark on their leadership journey in preparation for 2023. We invite our families of these Year 5 students to come along and hear their speeches this Friday afternoon at 2pm in the P/1/2 room.
Townsville Catholic Education Team Visit
Next Tuesday our team of leaders from Catholic Education will be visiting to sit down with myself and Mr Murray to begin preparing our Annual School Improvement Plan for 2023. This is a great opportunity for collaboration and to set our goals as we approach another new school year. We will keep our families updated with our plans and goals for 2023 once the ASIP is completed.
Report Cards
Report cards will be going out on Wednesday 30th November via COMPASS. It is imperative that parents have access to COMPASS as this is the only platform in which we release report cards. There will be NO hard copy printed and sent home.
Have a great weekend,
Sharn Greenaway

Prep/1/2 Happenings
This week we’ve been in construction! We have been learning all about mini beasts, their habitat and what they need to survive. We’ve combined our science unit with our English unit looking at insects and informative texts. Our dioramas look amazing!

Year 3/4 Happenings
Year 3/4 are Sound Waves Whizzes! Throughout the year, we focus on a different sound each week to help build our spelling strategies. We are proud to say that we are going on to our very last unit of Soundwaves. Good work, kiddos!
Miss Allison,

Year 5/6 Happenings
We have been busy in the 5/6 classroom earning lots of dojo points for setting positive examples, working hard and using our initiative to help others. For 200 points, the students have been able to buy lunch with the teacher. We have enjoyed having tacos, chicken pasta bake and on today's menu is chicken burgers all while watching a movie.
