Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Melbourne Cup

Our Melbourne Cup afternoon tea was a lovely event on Tuesday with the kids performing and our parents providing some lovely snacks for us all. A big thank you to Rachel Crozier, Sue Parker, Skye McClymont, and Nicole Hansen for their efforts in preparing and serving the food and decorating! Thanks also to our FACE group for providing a wonderful school community event.

Prep Transitions and Information Evening

We are looking forward to our Transitions days coming up and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the children at our recent Kindy Excursion. Parents are all invited to come along to our Prep information Evening next Wednesday Night 9th November. If you or someone you know, can’t make the evening we are more then happy to pass along our slides from the night to share the information that will be provided.

Half Day Prep Orientation- 8.30am-12.30pm- 10th November

Prep Transition Day- 8.30am-2.45pm- 17th & 24th November

Rememberance Day

Our Year ⅚ students will be attending the Rememberance Day Ceremony at the Pool Cenotaph on Frdiay November 11. Families and the community are welcome to come along. We ask students are in full academic uniform on this day please including black shoes and white socks.

Outback Futures

Just a reminder that Outback Futures are visiting today! They have spent the day doing workshops with the students from Prep-6 and have a valuable parent workshop this afternoon from 3.15pm-4.15pm in our library. All parents are invited to come along and hear what Margot Moody (pyschologist) has to say.

Prep/1/2 Happenings

We were really excited to have our kindy kids join us this week for a quick tour of our beautiful school! Our Prep’s and year 1’s did a fantastic job showing them about and helping them out with a quick fun craft activity.

Year 3/4 Happenings

In Maths, we have been discussing angles! We are learning to find right angles in the world around us, and use this knowledge to find obtuse and acute angles. In this lesson, students wrote their name in block-like letters and used colours to show where angles are in their own name.

Year 5/6 Happenings

We have gone measurement mad in maths, exploring different units of measurement within the metric system, including how to convert between them. This week we focused on the connection between capacity and volume, including how they are similar and different. We used our knowledge to help us measure different 3D objects to find both the capacity and the volume.
