Term 4 Week 1: 2022
From the Principal
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
St Francis Day
St Francis’ Feast Day was on October 4th and we are having a liturgy on Friday to celebrate. The students are able to bring along a quiet and friendly pet to be blessed by Father Emmanuel. This is my absolute favourite celebration of the year as we remember our Patron Saint. If your child intends on bringing a pet please be mindful that all dogs need to be on a leash and other animals should be in an enclosure of some sort to keep everyone’s pets safe. We look forward to celebrating with everyone and of course enjoying some cake!
NAPLAN Results
NAPLAN results have now been sent home with our Year 3 & 5 students. If parents have any questions or concerns please feel free to give the office a call and speak with myself or your child’s teacher.
Swimming
Our students started their weekly swimming lessons this week. Mrs Howie will be teaching the lessons alongside our teachers and Miss Margy. Please refer to COMPASS for the original note that was sent home this week.
COMPASS
We have a very busy term ahead and we ask that all parents are connected to COMPASS in order to receive all of the important information we share throughout the term. As we are moving away from hard copy notes, COMPASS is our main platform for communicating key events and notices. If you would like help in setting this up or having any issues please give Miss Millie a call in the office.
Have a great weekend,

Year 3/4 Happenings
This week in Science, we were learning about Forces, and the idea of push and pull. We conducted an experiment called Balloon rocket, where we attached a balloon to a straw and threaded the straw on a very long fishing wire. We then let the balloon go and watch it race along the wire. We then tried the race on upward and downward angles to see how the speed of the balloon changes.

Year 5/6 Happenings
We are off to a busy start to term 4. In English this term we are focusing on picture books. We are examining these books to identify and justify the intended audience, other inferential meaning within the book as well as how the grammar and punctuation elements have been used to add to the book.
