Term 3 Week 6: 2022
From the Principal
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Golf Day
Our Heroes and Villains Golf Day is this Saturday and our staff are very excited to be taking part in their very first golf fun day! We hope to see plenty of parents and community members joining us for a fun filled afternoon. Thank you to the parents that have offered to make a dish, we really appreciate the help. Children aged 9 and up can play and will be a $10 fee for the game and dinner.
If your families would like to join us for dinner but are not participating in the golf day they are more then welcome.
Dinner: Adults $10 Children $5
Road Safety Week
Next week is Road Safety Week. This is a great time to remind our students and families about staying safe on our roads. We have a few activities planned for our students throughout the week including wearing yellow on Friday to show our support for road safety!
This year's theme is 'Road safety starts with me'. A range of activities and resources are available from the Department of Transport and Main Roads' StreetSmarts website. We would also like to draw your attention to a new resource about walking safely to school called 'How are you travelling?', developed by Queensland Walks.
Sadly, road trauma is a leading cause of death of Queensland children and youth. As a whole community, young people need our support and guidance to keep safe on and around roads while they are still developing the cognitive, sensory and physical skills required to be safe road users. We hope that together, we can shine a light on road safety, and lay the foundations for a generation of safe road users.
Find out how you can get involved, visit StreetSmarts website.
School Fete
Our school Fete is fast approaching, and we have been doing plenty of work behind the scenes to make it a great night. We will be sending home volunteer notes next week and would appreciate if parents could give some time to our food stall.
If you can donate any fresh produce, plants, or baked goods we would be very appreciative. These can be delivered to the school from the 5th September! Our students will begin some baking tomorrow in preparation for the Year 5 & 6 Cake Stall!
Have a great weekend- We hope to see you at Golf Day!
