Term 2 Week 5: 2022
From the Principal
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Another busy week for us at St Francis. We have reached the mid way point of the term and the weeks are flying by.
NAPLAN is done and dusted and the children were treated with a celebratory cupcake. Thankfully it was smooth sailing in my absence and we had no issues delivering the tests. Congratulations to all of our students that participated. We are beyond proud of their efforts.
As you may have seen we have moved our Under 8s Day to next Thursday 26th. We hope our younger family members are able to make it in as we celebrate in style with our Under the Sea Theme!
We have our local Show coming up next weekend and the students have been busy working on their Art and Handwriting entries. Make sure you pop in to the pavilion to check out our display and the childrens work that the school has entered.
Enjoy your weekend!

Assembly
This week the class in the spotlight is Year 3/4.
Each week a different class will be in the spotlight during assembly and sharing something they have learnt with us.
Student Of The Week
P/1/2 - Dusty Young
3/4 - Adley Crozier
5/6 - Yasmine Angus
Prep/1/2 Happenings
In P/1/2 we’ve been looking at narratives! We’ve read a different story every week. Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson has been our favourite so far! The students worked hard to put the story in order and work on an extra special booklet about it too.

Year 3/4 Happenings
We love literacy groups in 3/4! Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, we complete a range of activities including Soundwaves, Guided Reading, Spelling tests, Reading express, and comprehension worksheets. I love seeing the amazing effort these guys put into their work.

Year 5/6 Happenings
We have been enjoying our specialist this term of Design and Technology, Art, Drama, and P.E. In Drama we have been developing our performance and improvisational skills. The students have been enjoying participating in lots of games and activities which make them think on their feet. This week, we used freeze frames to help us understand body language and spatial awareness.
