Term 1 Week 1: 2022
From the Principal...
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Welcome to our “official” first week of school for 2022! There is lots of excitement in the classrooms from the teachers and students and it is so lovely to hear the laughter and chatter around the school again.
We welcome all of the new students that have joined us this year including our delightful little preps! They have all settled in well and are loving big school life. We are looking forward to the year ahead and the wonderful journey it will take us all on.
We have a few events happening in the coming weeks. Thursday night is our Parent Information Evening starting at 5.30pm for our P/1/2 parents. This is then followed by our ¾ parents at 6.00pm and lastly 6.30pm for our 5/6 parents. Our lovely staff have some important messages to share with you all about the year ahead and what is happening in their classrooms. A gentle reminder that we must all be wearing masks and staying our 1.5m where possible.
Next week our Year 6 students will have their leadership liturgy in which we invite the parents and families of those students to attend. Unfortunately, due to current COVID restrictions we are unable to accommodate for our whole school community however we will be live streaming for families and friends to view.
A few other things to consider:
- Children in years 3-6 are encouraged to wear masks. This is not mandatory.
- Children in Prep/Year 1 are permitted to have a parent walk to the classroom with them however all other parents need to stay outside the grounds where possible.
- If your child is sick, please keep them at home.
- If they display symptoms of COVID-19 onsite, we will call the parent to collect the student and provide them with a RAT to administer at home.
- If a child that has been at school tests positive for COVID-19, we will send communications home regarding the situation.
- School assemblies are limited to students only for the first 4 weeks.
- If you are in isolation and your child is well, please contact the school or your child’s teacher about providing work through our Google Classroom platform.
We can’t wait to have our entire school community back together again soon,
Love and Light,
Sharn Greenaway

Prep/1/2 Happenings..
We’ve been working hard in P/1/2. Prep has been looking at 4 new sounds! We learn these sounds with some fun art projects. Year 1 and 2 have been focusing on the letter b. We’ve had the chance to do some literacy rotation activities using art, chrome books, fine motor and some small group work. Overall it’s been a fantastic start to the school term.

Year 3/4 Happenings...
We have been working extra hard on our writing and students were allowed to express their creativity with a topic of choice this week. Many students chose to write amazing stories and some chose journal entries. We created a Wow Words wall to show off some of the awesome descriptive words we used. What a fantastic start to the year!

Year 5/6 Happenings...
Have you ever wondered what affects plant growth? Well in the 5/6 classroom we are investigating just that. This week we planted sunflower seeds and are going to investigate how salinity affects their growth. Stay tuned to see how they grow!
