Term 4 Week 9- 2024
From the Principal
Dear Families,
We are almost nearing the end of the school year, and what a journey it has been! Week 9 has flown by, and our students are beginning their discussions about Advent.
Advent, in our Catholic tradition, is a season of preparation and hope as we await the celebration of the birth of Jesus at Christmas. It is a time to reflect, prepare our hearts, and embrace the joy, love, and peace that comes with the true meaning of Christmas. This sacred season reminds us to be patient and focus on the light of Christ as we share His love with others.
Last Friday, we held our annual swimming carnival, and what a wonderful success it was! It was heartwarming to see our children giving their best efforts in the pool and showing incredible sportsmanship. Congratulations to Burke for taking home the overall win for the day. A special shoutout to our staff/parent swimming team—Miss Eriksen, Miss Rowe, Mrs. Howie, and Skye—for blitzing the pool and bringing an extra level of excitement to the event!
A huge thank you goes out to all our parent volunteers, our dedicated staff, and Small Schools for your incredible organisation and support. Events like these are only possible through teamwork, and we are so grateful for our wonderful school community.
As we approach the final weeks of term, we are looking forward to celebrating our Prep Graduation this Friday and Christmas Carols on assembly next Friday. This event is always a highlight as we come together to share in the joy of the season.
Wishing you all a safe and restful weekend.

School TV Topic of the Week- Anxiety
In this edition of SchoolTV - Anxiety
Most young people today experience anxiety at some point in their life. Sometimes that slight rush of anxiety that occurs prior to an exam or sporting event, can enhance their performance. However, experiencing too much anxiety, over long periods of time, can be extremely damaging to their health and wellbeing. There is a difference between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ anxiety.
Statistics show, that the psychological health of young people today is far worse than it was a generation ago. This is having an adverse affect on children in both primary and secondary levels. Some of their issues of concern include stress, school, study, body image and friendship.
Parents need to be aware of the warning signs of ‘bad’ anxiety. There are preventative measures parents can implement as well as teaching kids the skills to cope more efficiently with their anxiety.
We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this edition of SchoolTV and we always welcome your feedback. If you have any concerns about your child, please contact the school counsellor for further information or seek medical or professional help.

They were especially excited to discover that Beau is 1 cm taller than Miss Rowe, even if she doesn’t want to admit it!
