Term 4 Week 3 - 2023
From the Principal
Dear Parents, Carers and Community,
As we conclude Week 3, I'd like to acknowledge the efforts of our students and staff. We look forward to celebrating the week's achievements at tonight's disco for all primary students in Hughenden.
Please note that Townsville Catholic Education has recently released an updated Parent Code of Conduct. This document is attached to this newsletter. I urge everyone to familiarise themselves with it, as there are notable revisions from the previous version.
As Term 4 draws to a close and we approach the end of 2023, several members of our community, including myself, will be departing from St. Francis School. If your family will not be continuing with us in 2024, please inform the school to aid in our class scheduling. However, parents of Year 6 students need not notify us, as we have already recorded these departures.
Earlier this term, I informed you about a communication survey. The feedback, which many of you graciously provided, indicates a preference for emails and fortnightly newsletters. We will discuss this feedback at the upcoming FACE meeting.
In the coming week, expect details about changes to the Right of Passage, information for 2024, and the school fee schedule for the next year.
Thank you for your continued support, and I wish you a pleasant week ahead.
God Bless,
Scott Murray

In 2/3/4, students are working hard every week on their free writing! Students continue to use their writers notebook to express all their creative ideas to help enhance their writing. Here are a couple ideas our students wanted to show you.

Year 5/6 Happenings
We have had a very busy week in ⅚ this week. In English, we have been exploring different text types which we can use in our writing. The students enjoyed looking at a range of different travel brochures which Miss Eriksen brought back from France. Using the travel brochures, they had to identify the purpose, audience and features of that text type.
