Term 3 Week 10: 14 September 2021
From the Principal...
Good afternoon Parents and Caregivers,
Welcome to week 10.
Our final week has hit us with a blast. We have some final assessments to take care of and then our Winton Camp and the Fun Run winds up the week. A reminder to the parents of 2/3/4 to ensure that if your child needs to take medication on the trip, that the "Consent to Administer" forms are completed and handed to staff. All medication must have a chemist label on it and must be in-date. Students must have their food for all-day Wednesday, water bottles, hats, and sunscreen in their back packs on the bus with them. All other luggage will be spread between the four vehicles travelling with the group.
Over the holidays we will have a series of builders and engineers on-site to complete some evaluations and maintenance work. This will lead us into the Christmas holidays when the school will receive a new roof. Our old Solar system will be removed during this process and we will be included in the next round of Solar Energy rollouts through the Catholic Education Office.
Prep/new enrolment interviews will commence in Term 4. If you have a child or know of a child who is looking to enrol in 2022, please contact the office for an enrolment pack, so that we may schedule these meetings. Our new enrolment information night is set for Tuesday 12th October. Our Prep orientation days are Friday, 22/10, 29/10 and 5/11.
A big thanks to Bryce Collings who has volunteered to take the chickens for the holidays. I am sure they will enjoy their two weeks with Bryce’s chickens, Bunji and Benji.
Don’t forget we are chasing donations of plants, baked goods and groceries for the fete. Any outstanding dodger tickets are also due ASAP. If you can help out with the fete in any way, please let Miss Jodie know.
Till next week,

Tuckshop...
Thank you to Rachel, Rowena and Skye for providing Tuckshop this week.
Thank you to the Mullay family for their beautiful home cooking this week. Our first Tuckshop back next term is in week 2 with the Thompson family on cupcakes.
Term 4 Cupcake rosters have gone home in students bags today for you to pin on your fridge or notice board.
Snack Attack...
Could we please remind parents and students packing "Snack Attack" that this is just a short 5 minute Brain Break, and not another meal break. The snack should be a small portion and preferably kept separate from the main lunch box. Prep/1/2 are asked to put their snack into a basket, so the temptation of the big lunch is removed.
Thank you for your continued support of this program.
Prep/1/2 happenings...
In P/1/2 we’ve been learning about chance and data. We’ve been using coins and dice to learn about different outcomes as well as collecting data.

Year 3/4 happenings...
We have been practicing a poem to present at St Patrick’s school when we visit for our Winton excursion. The poem is called “Why Emus Do Not Fly” by Phillip Lovely. Our practice has allowed us to show our expression and build our memory skills.

Year 5/6 happenings...
Maths this term has seen us learn about Measurement and Geometry. Last week we were looking at area and perimeter and how we can work these out. To practice what we had learnt, we went around the school to find the area and perimeter of different areas. It was a lot of fun!
